That can be attributed to Jeff Ellingson at the D&S. They used the Casey for several years and displayed it in the Durango museum during the winter and then brought it up for summer display in Silverton. The original intent was to operate the Casey under its own power so a larger gas tank was required, thus the one over the window, originally painted all red. But there is a problem with the magneto, and the battery would lose its charge and the Casey had to be towed more than once by a motor car. The last few times it made the trip on the back of a truck. We are considering removing that tank as it is not original and partially blocks the view out the front window. The Casey has a vacuum operated fuel pump, so the tank can go back under the front seat.
