Guests will enter Thomas Land through Knapford Station, the most notable depot in the Thomas world. To the right are the tracks where the life-sized Thomas the Tank Engine will carry riders during its 20-minute trip around the campus.
Eleven rides await visitors on the other side of Knapford. Each ride features Thomas characters from the popular television show, including Bertie Bus Tours, Cranky’s Crane Drop, Rocking Bulstrode, Firefighting Flynn and Toby’s Tilting Tracks.
“That’s our thrill ride,” said Stacie Marano, manager of events and attractions for Mattel, which owns the Thomas brand. “It rocks back and forth and goes up and down.”
Other attractions are a roller coaster called Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster and a small Ferris wheel, the Sodor Windmill. The highlight is Winston’s Skyline Express, which is a monorail-inspired ride built on elevated tracks.
“It’s quite a view from up there,” Delli Priscoli said. “It’s a whole different perspective.”
