Edaville is 2' gauge. When I was there in 1973, it was sold as a trip thru cranberry bogs. I still have my ticket, which is "signed" by the then-president, a guy named George Bartholomew. It went bankrupt, and much of its equipment was scattered across Maine. For example, they built a bunch of open tourist-carrying cars, and now just about every 2' tourist line in Maine now uses one of those as its "work horse" tourist carrying car.
The re-invented line is shortened from those days; IIRC, some of the land turned out to be more valuable as a subdivision.
Post Note: 1973 was the last vacation I took with my parents as a member of their family (I was a grad student at the time). I will always have fond memories of that trip.
