My blood runs cold at the thought of a 'Thomas the Tank' theme Park.
Reverend Wilbert Awdrey, creator of 'Thomas' was a volunteer on the Talylllyn Railway (which pioneered railway preservation), he also sometimes volunteered on the Ffestiniog. Many of his original stories, intended for bedtime reading to his son, were based on actual episodes on these and other railways. The money people just don't understand.
My New York grand daughter, age 6, took me to the new Harry Potter theme park in Orlando last year. It wasn't within a million miles of the stories which JK Rowling wrote in school exercise books in cheap diners. Even worse, the money men have taken a Great Western 4-6-0, stripped off the green paint, and painted it RED. George Jackson Churchward must be turning in his grave.
