The SSW 819 is in Pine Bluff. The info on the internet suggests it is cared for and perhaps even being worked on (it needs the usual FRA boiler work). but has no place to run because it is "land locked" by UP's no foreign steam policy. Of course the no foreign steam issue is non-sense because the SSW is now part of the UP, but the folks in Omaha don't seem to think that way. The 819 is a classically handsome machine and hopefully some day will find a place to run again. Wish I had seen her when she was running. A lot of info can be had by googling SSW 819.
