I saw this on a couple of other discussion boards also. Unfortunately, another Frisco engine that was in service was just retired again...4-8-2 #1522, and the folks that operate it supposedly discussed the engine in Tulsa at one time, and got nowhere. Now the window of opportunity for the 1522 folks to get this engine appears to be closed. Timing is always everything isn't it.
I just wish BNSF had an interest in a corporate steam program cause this engine would make a fine addition to the ones they have run in recent times...261, 4449, 700, and 3751!
Lets hope the loco finds a good home, if not to run some day, at least as a nice static display.
