The city of Tulsa is selling its historic SLSF 4500 1942 4-8-4 .Apparently an aborted attempt at restoration is prompting the sale .Despite its sorry - looking state ,it may be in good shape with 12 years of use , heavy repairs before display ,and nearly all of the parts and appliances are accounted for . Apparently any bid will be considered . This is one BIG locomotive !
