I knew I went to the right place to ask about those SPng cars! Thanks to all of you who sent information about the cars I amentioned. Glad to hear that SP 3 is still with us.
For any of you who have not been there, the Nevada State RR Museum is a jewel. They have good displays, an active restoration shop, a short ride which is sometimes behind steam. And more V&T equipment than you can believe.
The museum shop is working on rebuilding the last known McKeen wind-splitter V&T #22. Looks like they plan to restore it to operating condition, building a new engine in the process.
