Re: New tourist line in Trinidad?

Like Gary Landrio, I too am impressed with Reed. After all the negativity that has been posted I decided to call him this morning and get the correct information from the source. First, the line is in fine condition. Reed hired a recently retired FRA inspector who reports the line is in,between a class 2 and class 3 condition. Second, land reclamation has been under way at the mine site for some time...even before Reed got involved and, Third, there is no toxic waste clean up problem. Reed says reports of legal problems are totally false and without substance. Maximum grade on the line is a little less than 1.4% and Reed is aware of the importance of a really good and sizeable effort in marketing. I thought I would share this 'source' information to set the record straight. Personally, my hat is off...to anybody who attempts to save a rail line, nomater the gauge or location.
