Thank you for the links - they are very interesting. The research on the Cabin Branch mine has been very interesting. I've talked with several folks in the Virginia historical community about these photos. I was given a link to a PDF document that gives quite a bit of history on the Cabin Branch mine, including a list of all employees. Link: [www.pwcvirginia.com] . The document list every employee that worked at the mine. I have a group photo of many miners, their names are all hand written below the photo, every name (and race) can be found in the document. In talking with the various historical societies and the NPS (who owns the mine site), it has also been determined these photos are the ONLY known images of the railroad or the mining operation. What I find sad is nobody in Virginia or the Prince William County historical groups is interested in these photos - even if I donate them! I know I can’t be alone in this, so my quest continues.
