I believe the Porter 0-6-0 is s/n 1975, built in April, 1899. A locomotive of this description was delivered to Barrow Siding on the RF&P and was consigned to the Detrick Fertilizer and Chemical Co. I don,t know(yet)if this was a precursor to or absorbed by the American Agricultural Chemical Co., but Barrow Siding was where the Cabin Branch Mine RR received materials shipped by rail. The pyrites mined were shipped by barge to Alexandria for processing at a facility known as Possum Point, where Occoquan Creek enters the Potomac River. Several sources note docks, warehouses and tran shipment bunkers existed here on property currently occupied by a coal fired power plant previously operated by VEPCo, The last I knew of the area was 10 or more years ago.
