the fellow i met at alpine had dug out the entrance several weeksbefore and had returned to take more photos as the previous ones hadent turned out. he had filled in his excavation so digging was easy inthe loose earth and small rock. we were inside for an hour or so while he took photos using his flash lite. when we got out we braced the top timber of the arch with rock and refilled the hole we dug. havent been back since so dont know if opening is still like we left it or not. recent work and sluffing of the hill side have changed things im sure. randy , i would have liked to have made the trip with bouvinger as he hada great store of knowledge the trip with bob was after loading car bodies at monarch quarry with a cu student named lars. we had a few days to kill before 9th grade started for me.
