As has been pointed out, the telegraph line became the property of WU and was rebuilt to the seen configuration in 1919. It became part of WU's "short cut" to SLC by going the short route from Denver to Buena Vista, before tying in with the D&RG line there and continuing west. This line remained in service for WU long after the C&S pulled up all the rails.
