HIT Entertainment which licenses "Thomas the Tank Engine" and "Day out with Thomas" has been part of the Mattel organization since February 2011. It is managed under the Fisher-Price subsidiary. Press Release here

Last I knew the license payment is about 32% of the gate. Plus the event location pays for promotion (all approved by HIT Entertainment), on-site entertainment/activities required as part of the agreement, tents or other rentals required or necessary for the event. Etc., Etc., Etc.
