Yes, I realize that they could put #497's boiler on #492's frame and not be short any more K-37's, but the resulting locomotive would be one with a bad boiler & running gear and little chance of being restored to operation. It just seems to me that the best long term solution would be the return of both locomotives to operation.
On that same thought, they could easily switch out parts from the #494 & #495 and be none the worst for wear.
