Very interesting information, thank you guys for digging it up. So, if I am reading all of this right...

DSP&P 608 was renumbered to Union Pacific 24152 and most likley saw service on the Greeley Salt Lake & Pacific and found itself stranded in Sunset after the 1894 flood and subsequent end of the GSL&P. Lacking any way to remove the whole car, sometime between 1894 and the construction of the C&N-W in 1897, 608/24152 was removed from its trucks and set alongside the old grade in Sunset (the trucks could concieveably have been hauled out of Sunset by wagon, along with the rails and other items that were salvaged from the GSL&P) where it became somewhat of a cabin. Sometime after 1906, the C&N-W picked 608 up and moved it to Cardinal, where it served as the Cardinal section house. About a cetury later, some other lunatics come along and moved the car again, first to Boulder, then to Como.

Potentially, DSP&P 608 is not only a relic of the South Park but also the Greeley, Salt Lake & Pacific. If that could be proven (anyone find a picture of UP 24152 in service on the GSL&P yet?), that would make it the only remaining object on the face of the earth that saw service on the GSL&P (funny name for a railroad that ran from Boulder to Sunset)

PS - How do you get to the CHS B-221 photo referenced in the posts? In the past , the DPL website had an option to search by call number. This no longer seems to be the case and I am having less than no luck finding the photo.
