Steam needs to be shown with its own trains, and diesels with their own.
I have nothing against folks who shoot diesel photos, but mixing the two for the most part is not something I really enjoy. I have been skipping most of the 4449, 261, 765, 630, 844, 3985, 3751 and other stuff cause they always seem to have a diesel with it.
To me the "Experience" of steam is not 100% when there is a diesel or two in the consist. Its not the same as seeing a steamer blast by at speed or work hard on a grade doing all the work with not diesel in the consist. I think this is one reason I like the Colorado/NM Narrow gauge so much---you rarely see those diesels that mess things up.
Now before someone jumps all over me, I understand why some of the mainline guys need the diesels(Amtrak Insurance), but I cannot understand why folks like Union Pacific, and Canadian Pacific use the diesels so much these days. Today, the rare shot is getting not only steam engine running, but getting it WITHOUT the diesel assisting.
Also the Daylight water bottle looks really bad back there behind the Pacific. Always liked the Vandy tenders on those SP pacifics.

P.S. Check out some blast from the past on our 2839 video preview. This engine only ran for 2 years on the Southern, and now its in California stuffed and mounted. It was a nice runner. It too ran a lot with diesels cause it was not super powerful for the grades, but we were able to get some first and last runs without them, and the engine really did well.
