Yes 256 is safely in Durango. More than any other of our equipment, our fleet of passenger cars is used on a year around basis and sees lots of service each year. For some time it has been our goal to gradually increase our fleet so as to spread out individual car usage, increase maintenance windows, and create more flexibility to increase and grow our business, 256 was acquired towards those goals. As we have other planned projects ahead of it, for the moment it will be stored and work towards it entering service in three years or so as a standard class car like it's sisters 257 and 291.
I have to say how remarkable it is in 2022 how few unrestored DRGW passenger cars remain. Time to start investing in restoring some SPNG, C&S or F&CC equipment.
