RGS Coach #256

August 06, 2012 12:57PM
Along the same line as the thread concerning RGS Coach 252, here is an update of where we are on the restoration of RGS coach #256. We (the Galloping Goose Historical Society) are pretty much on indefinite hold with that project. The reason - lack of money, lack of manpower and a facility to work in. Last month another visit was made to the D&S car shop for their additional input as to how we should proceed with the restoration. Their current advice is basically; don’t bother unless you have a level concrete surface to work on – preferably indoors! We don’t have access to either. We are now working on a grant that will hopefully remedy those issues. That’s the bad news. The good news is we do have trucks!

RGS #256 stored at the Truelsen sawmill property about 3 miles east of Dolores.
Restoration begins July 28, 2008 007 (575x430).jpg
