IIRC, two K-37 locomotives (#497 and #498?) were trucked from Alamosa to Durango on
U.S. 160 via Wolf Creek Pass several years ago. I presume this was prior to the massive
improvements implemented on 160 during the past few years, so I can't say for sure that
they would fit through the newer snowsheds, but - as you point out - the Geese are NOT
oversized loads, and SFAIK should not have any problems getting to - and returning from -
Golden, whether based at Dolores, Knott's or To-Hell-You-Ride (or Ridgeway), and whether
traveling via I-40, I-70, U.S. 50, U.S. 160 and/or U.S. 285.
