Hey Mike - I had kinda figured that, but thank you for stating it. I find myself torn. Jeff seems like a younger guy with a passion for what all of us here enjoy and is obviously quite upset about the loss of the car. I share with him in the sadness that the car is gone. If he had not said something, I would have gone looking for it next time I visited the museum. The fact that it at least had decent paint on it and was lettered and numbered, gave me reason to think it was eventually going to be restored. Especially given how rare it was and the history behind it. But, I also respect what Mr. Campbell has said and if he called a time of death on it, he would know better than I. Water under the bridge now. Maybe like Jeff said in another post, if there are other items the Museum is not planning to keep, they could be offered to others that have the ability to remove and restore them instead of the fate of this car.
