The Midland Terminal sort of qualifies as a NG RR. It was originally planned as narrow gauge, construction was started as narrow gauge, and before a train ever ran, it was decided to build it standard gauge, since it connected to the Colorado Midland. So while the SG grade is buried under Colo.67 south of ranch at Midland, the ng grade survives for all to see today.
Also when the MT and F&CC were under the same management, much of the MT was 3 railed for use by F&CC and Golden Circle equipment.
Just the same, it is another of those Colorado RRs, that would have made a great ride had it survived. Imagine riding up Ute Pass on that 4% grade and through all of those tunnels behind steam!
I saw the abandoned grade for the first time in 1960, and with the bridges, fills and tunnels, it started my lifetime love for abandoned railroads all over the country.
