Sorry. BTW[1], nothing to do with texting, I've never texted in my life. I use the abbreviations that were common in email back in the 1980's & early 90's. Back in those long-gone days, before the Endless September, there was a concept called Netiquette and I was taught that the use of such then common acronyms, in particular on large distribution sites like mailing lists and bulletin boards, was good Netiquette because it reduced bandwidth usage and because there were places in the world where people paid for their connection by the second so the less time they had to spend connected to retrieve messages, the better.
I guess all that makes me an Old (Internet) Fogey.
