I think that it really does not do the CTSRR any good to post publicly that it was a good idea to shut it down. While I might agree with you privately on some points, in general shutting it down was a devastating move that was made in an arbitrary fashion. The railroad was already on the ropes financially when the edict came down.
Denver is Denver. Chama is Chama.
A fire in Chama is far more likey to be started by some idiot setting off fireworks than by the train.
This kind of supposition and equating of Denver which is on fire with Chama which is not, is totally irresponsible.
The CTSRR, unlike D&S has an EXCELLENT record of fire suppression and fire fighting.
Why are you not advocating that D&S shut down?
You say you 'will be out'. Why don't you come on out right now and say what you said to all the employees who are layed off, the business owners whose livelihoods are being destroyed, and the railroad management that is trying to cope with the situation?
Before you answer this, why don't you contact the management in Chama, read the CTSRR Info board, have a nice cool drink and think about it.
