Dick, your first post direct-linked to a large file hosted on another site. Users who clicked on the link in your post were loading a large PDF file from that other site, not from the NGDF.

Direct linking is a rather rude thing to do since (1) the other site gets stuck paying the bandwidth and (2) the other site is not being viewed as intended by the person(s) paying the bills!

There is an entire wikipedia page devoted to the practice of inline linking:

The page says that inline linking is "also know as hotlinking, leeching, piggy-backing, direct linking, offsite image grabs, bandwidth theft."
