When I saw #464 in the summer of 1962 I was only 9 years old but I knew an awful lot about locomotives for that age. Belive me it was a sad looking heap of rust but maybe it was operable. Come to think of it wasn't this just about the time that the Grande acquired the little #50 to take over the switching duties in Durango? Makes sense to me that it had been used as by then the Silverton Train was taking off in full swing.
