Thanks for the insights, John. I have known a few local officials, and they have a job that I could never handle. Anything goes wrong, and they are on the hot seat. Subject to firing at the whim of the super. When the Santa Fe was purging managers after Haverty was ousted word was out for local management not to take vacation. The ones that had returned to work to find their desks gone and belongings boxed for them. And to top that off they have to deal with to many employees that are a bunch of whiners trying to get their way. Not all of them, by any means, but enough to really get under your skin. It's one of those jobs where I could do the work, but there's no way I would even try.
