The Durango Herald has a recent article about his stroke:

Bruce is also on the Durango/Silverton Advisory Board for the D&S railroad and helps out on many activities for the train. The last time I saw him was when he volunteered to watch the two stranded trains in Silverton for a night this past summer when we had the rockslides. He once lived at the house in Rockwood, now owned by the D&S, and also the two standard gauge cabooses that were in Durango for several years. He has a great radio voice and went from announcing to station engineering, but still did spot announcing, thus the need for an easy "radio" name like Anderson.
For those of you who see only smoke and fences when visiting here, be aware that the railroad involves many people in our two communities besides the D&S employees, and Bruce is a true friend for both Durango and Silverton.
