I'm wondering why the gummint thinks crews on duty at 4 a.m. (who probablky had to get up at 2 a.m. to get to work) are going to be less fatigued than crews who work until say midnight. My favorite was always swing shift. The unscheduled/working extra issue is a whole different can of worms. But like Ed says.....
It is interesting to read the bitching from train crews about how they are abused these days. Well it ain't perfect, but they have come a long way from the days of the 16 hour hog law....I worked a lot of 15 hour 59 minute days....with the second shift often ending at 6:59 a.m.
