Probably lost in the bowels of one of the other long threads was my suggestion that an ideal train for John to re-create would be the one he photographed in September, 1960 - see [
narrowgaugememories.com]. About the only thing missing is a couple of box cars, but since there are six tank cars in the photo it might be necessary to replace two or three of them with boxcars anyway, depending on how many are serviceable by next fall.

p.s. IIRC there are two pipe gons and their three idler flats available in Chama, but right now they have loads in them. EASTBOUND pipe gons should be empty, but they should have loads coming WEST
...
