Some of my clearest childhood memories involve #4449 and #2472.

In fact, just a few weeks ago David and I attended one of the "Railroad Revival Tour" concerts in Tempe, AZ... and of course I had to wear my Daylight cap with the 2472, C&TSRR, and Galloping Goose pins. Lo and behold, the bands pulled up to the venue in a string of preserved cars, including the Gordon Zimmerman (in full Daylight colors) and the Silver Lariat. I'm pretty sure I've played in both cars as a little kid.

David says I paid way more attention to the train than to the show... I consider it an evening well spent.

Thanks for bringing back the memories, Dad!
