Ed,
Any of the older Museum volunteers can tell you the story on Rogers Pass. Dave Rogers was a school teacher in the Jefferson County school district. He was a volunteer in the eighties. He was the Museums letterer. He lettered a lot of the Museums equipment. All the years he volunteered at the Museum he suffered from terminal cancer. He lost the battle with cancer. The Rogers Pass sign post was built and lettered by Andy Dahm and placed at the high point of the loop as a memorial to Dave Rogers. Andy Dahm excelled at stencil making and lettering, Dave Rogers gave Andy a lot of pointers on how to do this. Juanita was a "station" on the line to Durango just east of Gato, but the CRRM's Juanita was also named for an long time early Museum employee. Delay Junction was the name Bob Richardson gave the Museum when it first moved to Golden. He gave it that name for obvious reasons.
