To be serious: The spirit of Bob Richardson lives on at the Museum. From the beginnings at Alamosa with a handfull of equipment to what we now have in Golden attests to that. A world class library, working roundhouse, close to 1/2 half mile loop of track, turntable and 3 operable steam locomotives (a 4th coming in a year or so)) and over 100 pieces of equipment. Without Bob Richardson's efforts (and Corny Haucks) the CRRM would not exist and the majority of the equipment we now have would have been scrapped. Don't forget the teenaged kids who rode their bikes to Golden in the sixties to volunteer under Bob's mentoring. Some of these kids are still volunteering. One of them is our CMO. The Museums volunteer force numbers over 100 and we could use more. No, we can't restore Uncle Bob, but without him we would have nothing to write about or watch and run a hundred and thirty year old locomotive around a loop.
