Thanks for the replys folks. Some good stuff here.

As for the pilot plows how are they attached? I am talking about attached to old wood cow catchers 1880's.

As for the the various push plows do any of these date back to the 1870's/1880's?

If not, what other then shovels and pilot plows would have been used?

Any body have photos or drawings of this really old snow fighting stuff?

(other then shovels). Haha

Living in canada I have lots of opportunity to plow the snow in the garden. We got 5" of the white stuff over the weekend.
