Re: Reflections on the original intent of this forum.

Today I met a gentleman at Rose hospital in a Rio Grande Jacket. I butted in, as I am inclined to do, and in the conversation I ask about his railroad experience and what he was interested in. Basically he told me he was no longer interested; he had grown tired of all the "stuff" going on in the forums and groups so he was out of it.

While a lifelong railroad fan, I have only been involved in Colorado railroading activities for a very few years. From my "new eyes" I hear that same phrase both here on this form and from individuals when discussing everything in Colorado railroading--from the museum to the tiny town train. It seems to me that everyone is aggrevated about two things: 1) People whom can't stand know-it-all's (and the corollary, those whom do not like those whom don't know they don't know it all) and 2) the general lack of sticking to relevant topics (hard to describe, if you watch any string, by the 6th post the original topic is hard to imagine; those 50 post strings are largely only monuments to narcissism)

Personally I like to see anything about Colorado narrow guage railroads (whether the equipment is in Golden or Guatamala) or Colorado Narrow guage railroading (not modeling, unless 12"ft scale). I am interested in research and discussion of why opinions differ; I am not interested in either levity or belitteling an author or opinion. I am not at all interested in personalities of forum participants (unless it is relevant to the forum--not likely).

I hope the posts of RGS, D&RG (including 3 rail, and 2'), Uintah, and every other railroad which put rails down in Colorado can find a home here!

I think I am hearing that everyone into Colorado narrow guage is screaming for participants to be adults. I certainly would welcome it.

Oh and if anyone can, put a spell check in. I am embarassed.
