"Your Durango comment reminds me that after Chama I went to Durango to ride the Silverton and ran into a bunch of German tourists and some from Switzerland who were going crazy over the Silverton train and the Durango engine terminal. They asked if there were "any other" trains they could ride behind steam. I said "yes,the narrow gauge in Chama" They stared at me with blank faces since they had not heard of the C&TS or Chama. I told them all about it and they went absolutely crazy and wanted to know how to get there. I told them the whole story. They immediately went to a pay phone to make reservations. I heard some of them in broken english say this was unbelieveable."
