He didn't go straight to engineer either on the Rio Grande Southern or the D&RGW but he did pass one person on the Rio Grande engineer's list. Lynton was promoted to engineer on 3-4-1918 for the RGS. After that railroad quit he hired out on the Rio Grande on 12-31-1951. He was promoted on 1-11-1955.
J.S. Lira was hired on 9-2-1948 and promoted on 7-2-1957. If it make any difference, Lynton worked out of Durango while Johnny Lira was an Alamosa engineman.
