I bought a brochure advertising a 10-day Narrow Gauge Holiday (Ten Days of Adventure with Western Steam) with dates from May 30 to June 8, 1958. The brochure was sent out by the Western Pacific Railroad Co. It began in Oakland, went to the Nevada Northern, Salt Lake City, then Pueblo & Alamosa. They then went to Durango, Silverton and back to Alamosa on June 3-5. Then Denver, Cheyenne, Elko and Oakland. Does anyone know if this trip actually happened? I have compiled a lot of narrow gauge excursion data but this trip has not crossed my path before. The RMRRC ran one from May 30 to June 1, 1958 and the Alamosa Kiwanis ran one on October 10-12, 1958. Just trying to complete my study of narrow gauge excursions. -- Wes Pfarner
