Thanks for the help Mike, Rich, and Herb.
I have the 1909 plans of the Chama Roundhouse, but I am seeing from pictures at Alamosa that those style of Smoke Jacks must have been updated between then and the 1940s/50s, as the Smoke Jacks seem to be much narrower and longer (where the stack sort of 'slides' right into the slot and is a slight bit longer on the sides vs the front and back).
So I was just wanting to use that more as a confirmation vs anything.
I saw a picture that Russ posted of Ernie Robart's (click
HEREHERE) as well that shows mostly pipes and then at the far end a 'house' or square looking type of structure (much like is produced by Banta Modelworks). But this is the only picture I see like that on most roundhouses in that period. The ones I have seen appear to have a square-ish type of stack or even a rounded pipe coming from the lower jack.
So what do you guys think. Should I do the square jack or 'house type' on the ends and then use pipes towards the front?
Thanks,
Craig
