The problem with any narrow gauge conversion of a SG diesel is the traction motor on SG equipment is too wide to fit a 3' gauge wheel set. That is why the CyZ engines had standard EMD traction motors with mechanical transmissions to the axles.
I have doubts our RR would take the axle loading of a GP7. I think if a GP7 could be narrow gauged like a K37 tank the stresses on those long axles would keep the shops busy replacing broken axles.
