I will be visiting the WHR and BFR in early July. My plans are to take the train from London to Bangor, then bus to Caernarefon, ride the Welsh Highland RR to Pont Croesor, walk 3 miles to Porthmadog where I will be staying overnight, then the next morning ride the Ffestiniog RR to Blaenau Ffestiniog, then take the train back to London via Llandudno Junction and Chester. It would have been nice to ride the WHR all the way to Porthmadog, but I had only limited options for vacation time off this summer.
An comments or suggestions from anyone who has done this trip before? I am in good shape and can easily do the 3-mile walk, but I wonder if there is bus service to close the gap this summer?
