Douglas, the NM commuter rail does not reach ABQ airport.

My experience is that it is cheaper to fly into DEN than ABQ, but rental cars are usually much more expensive at DEN than at ABQ.

ATL-DEN has four way competition on direct flights (Delta, Airtran, United, and American, IIRC) while only Delta does ATL-ABQ.

I have no explanation for the high DEN rental car rates.
