I think you have a great and possibly do-able plan. It would be a great ride up the river into that canon. I hope that one landowner will come around for your plan. It will be a line that would not need a rebuild each spring to get it open, as would be the Eureka Northern line.
That is real interesting that the so called destruction of the Snowslide shed might not have happened as in the book. That may explain why I could not find it within the Silverton Standard newspaper.
But why were the teams in use in January 1907 to move all the freight as the shed was new? Nice to have puzzles to work on and questions to ask the real old timers.
Also note in the articles about the new rail placement over the entire Silverton Railroad to Ironton, as this was over abandoned grade north of Red Mountain where the rails had earlier been salvaged for the Treasure Tunnel. This was the first rebirth in the Rainbow area and the new Silverton Northern RR is a second rebirth of an "Otto" line.
