Fantrip usually run in the spring or fall. My dad rode his first one in 1954, and 487 was the power without the plow. I shot 484 here at the exact same spot in 1966 when it was on a water train. See previous thread with that image.
That general store at Gato was a classic. I remember going in there and seeing all the army surplus stuff, and we got a bottle of coke from a really old vending machine I think. I know it was one of those tiny bottles of Coke! We were so thirsty we didn't care. It was a time warp and glad it was saved! Gomez Store. In 1968 it was still owned and run by the Gomez family I believe.
