("war trophies" from Pacex Vietnam) and a Sony MVC FD91 (800K pixels w/14:1 optical zoom, an obsolete model). I use them for different things. The manual film cameras are much more versatile, especially in doing oddball things where you need total control over the exposure, such as taking pictures of meteor showers and comets where you need really long exposures.
The digital really shines when you use its output in an electronic format, such as web page images or as inclusions in word processing documents. Its one real advantage over a film camera is the whole process from exposure to final print is in the hands of the end user without resorting to specialty photographic equipment such as enlargers, development equipment, etc. And you can do color without the precise temperature control required for color processing.
