D&RGW Coach 280 at CRM (on turntable)

November 19, 2001 02:42PM
D&RGW Coach #280 was delivered to the Colorado Railroad Museum this morning. It will be stored there until the city of Boulder decides where and how to display it permanently. It was placed in the roundhouse, where it is scheduled to have an "E" implanted on the lettering and some touch-up painting before running on the Santa Claus special next month. They are planning to have both this car and their coach 284 on that train. Coach 280 was placed in roundhouse at least in part because the new loading track is a turntable lead, and the main turntable lead is not quite finished. The linked page shows 280 on the newly installed turntable (they said this was the first piece of equipment to be turned on it, not counting a little push car).
