The City of Boulder is not sure what to do. They would like the train and the Depot to be displayed together, but that will cause both the train and the Depot to be moved again.
We "saved" the depot from the wrecking ball back in the '70's by moving the stone structure 16 blocks to the old rodeo grounds East of 28th st.
Well, guess what? The rodeo was ridden out of town years ago, and the property was sold to a developer, so today, the depot sits like a beached whale in the middle of a commercial development.
We moved the train in the early 80's as part of a redevelopment in Central Park, and it looked like the train was fixed for years to come. But all of us agree we would like to have the depot and the train together if there can be found a way to do it. As of today, there are no firm plans in place, but I'm sure there will be news before too much longer.
The best part of this is that because of work done before, these artifacts still remain.
I am among those who would favor the 74 and the caboose moved to Golden in the interim.
