If the CHS was serious about actual restoration of the 9, they had over a decade that it sat, untended and rotting on a spur track near Silver Plume.
I'm just glad that I no longer pay taxes to Colorado.
If the $100,000.00 would have been resolved, there would have been plenty of equipment, 100% steam for the tourist trains AND if the CHS really wanted the White Pass Coaches, they could have purchased them with the percentage of the proceeds that they received each year without having to do anything but collect the money.
But Greed raised its ugly head and what looked like a "Profit Center" has turned into a black hole.
Let's hope that the new operator has better luck than Railstar did. When dealing with the CHS at Georgetown better keep a sharp eye on the contract and a sharper one on your wallet.
