Re: What is your gauge bar setting for 36" track?

The track gage is 36" on tangent, and 1/4" additional for each 10 degrees of curvature, with no change greater than 1/4" in 31 feet of distance, Max 36 1/2". Your track Gauge should be built to drop-in at 37-7/8". That is the out-of-service gage. This is for any MCB style wheels with full size flange. Your most critical measurement is the back-to-back of 34 1/4" of the guard rail measurements to gage of other rail. Do not mix narrow flange wheels with MCB wheels on the same railroad. Narrow flange wheels are for tram lines.
The inside back to back of MCB wheels must be 32.5 inches.
