Hi, George -
Actually, 'Dilbert' is based on Scott Adams' workplace - not mine.
There really wasn't a camera in our conference room linked to Adams' office, although
sometimes it sure seemed like there was. All I had to do to poke fun at our own Pointy-
Haired Bosses was to change the names on an enlarged Xerox, and then pin it up on the
bulletin board ...
But I did install an older version of the screen-capture utility 'SnagIt' - which had a camera as its start-up icon - and then changed the on-screen shortcut name to "
Scott Adams is Watching YOU!!" So far as I know, none of them ever noticed that they were being 'spied on' to supply gag lines for 'Dilbert'.
They put up with my shenanigans 'cause I was the only one who knew how to troubleshoot our Model-204 mainframe database system - which in itself is proof of management's incompetence. What if I became sick, or got hit by a car?
Needless to say, I'm very happy to have been retiarded for the past 3½ years.
